An Ohio family is coping with the tragic death of a loved one in a recent crash. Authorities say the driver responsible for this fatality actually caused two car accidents. Charges are pending the conclusion of the investigation.
Officials prepared a preliminary crash report that indicates a 58-year-old woman was westbound on Ohio 129, which has a speed limit of 35 mph. It is alleged that a driver of a concrete truck was traveling in the same direction at a speed of 65 mph. Hamilton police say the truck driver failed to keep a safe following distance and smashed into the rear of the woman’s SUV.
Reportedly, the SUV caught fire, but the concrete truck driver continued ahead and struck a second vehicle. The SUV driver could not be removed from the burning car, and she died at the accident scene. Authorities reported that the brakes and other equipment on the truck were defective and that the driver’s license had been suspended.
