As this winter’s historic blizzard continues to blanket the U.S. with snow, Authorities in many states are having a hard time keeping up with car and truck accidents on U.S. roadways. Local Ohio news reports detail that authorities were very busy recently trying to keep up with accidents on Interstate 75 in northwest Ohio, which was shut down as of yesterday in several spots. Ohio State Highway Patrol expressed that a truck accident left all lanes of southbound I-75 traffic to be blocked just south of Lima. Reports also detailed that another big accident closed a highway north of Lima overnight as well.
No major injuries have been reports thus yet, according to news sources. One rollover crash involving a recreational vehicle vehicle on Interstate 75 near Findlay sent eight people to the hospital but officers did not release status or extent of those injuries. Police told the media that once they removed one vehicle from the road another one would either get stuck or slide off the road.
Some cities around the country have reported snowfall in excess of 24 inches. Snow plow crews in each city have been working day and night to dig out their cities in order to return to normal. Many cities were forced to shut down roads, close schools and businesses, and cancel public transportation due to the historic blizzard which is creating white-out conditions in many states.
