Recent local news reports detail that a multi-truck accident in Ohio injured two individuals on Ohio Highway 47. The truck accident occurred on Fort Recovery Road between Sherman Road and Ohio 47 on Wednesday. According to Shelby County Sheriff’s Department officers, the truck accident occurred when an older man driving his pickup truck attempted to pull out of a driveway when it veered into the path of a dairy truck. During the collision, both trucks were forced off the road into a field.
Police told the media that when Fort Loramie Rescue and Fire crews responded to the scene of the truck accident, they had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate the man from the pickup truck. They had to remove the top of the pickup truck in order to safety rescue the injured man. Both the driver of the pickup truck and the driver of the dairy truck were injured in the collision. Reports detailed that Careflight was unable to airlift the injured victims from the scene due to the weather. Alternatively, they were both transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital. Once they arrived at Wilson, the driver of the pickup truck was transported by ambulance to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.
The Sheriff’s office has not yet released the names of the individuals involved in this truck accident case. Police expressed that they are currently investigating this nearly fatal truck accident.
