A recent truck accident killed a man from Euclid when the truck he was driving crashed on Interstate 71 in Medina County on Tuesday morning. The truck accident occurred in the southbound lanes at about 8:23 a.m. near the 223 mile maker in Medina Township. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the truck accident occurred when the 46-year-old man was driving a Hino box truck veered off the left side of the road. This caused the truck to hit a guardrail and caused the truck to overturn onto the driver’s side.
Emergency crews responded to the truck accident scene minutes after the initial crash. Rescue crews flew the fatally injured man to Medina Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead as the result of his severe injuries sustained in the truck accident.
The man’s employer, Insulation Distributors, issued a statement following the man’s death: “At this time, our thoughts and our prayers go out to the friends and family of Mr. Davis. Mr. Davis was highly regarded at IDI and he will be missed.” The company expressed that the man was making a delivery from the company’s Brook Park location at the time of the truck accident.
