A semi-truck rollover may delay commutes for thousands in Cleveland today due to debris after the truck rolled-over on a metro highway. According to a Fox 8 news report and the Cleveland Police Department, a semi-truck traveling westbound on Interstate 480 rolled off the road, down an embankment and onto Lee Road below. Following the accident, the driver of the semi-truck was trapped inside the rig until authorities were able to remove him from the semi-truck.
The truck accident occurred near the Lee Road exit shortly before 3:30 p.m. today. ODOT, the Garfield Heights and Cleveland Fire Departments responded to the scene. Complete details of this truck accident are still unclear. At the time of the blog post, Interstate 480 was not immediately closed following the truck accident. This truck accident only comes less than a day after another semi-truck rolled-over on Interstate 480 yesterday in Garfield Heights. This truck turned on its side on the on-ramp of I-480 eastbound from Transportation Boulevard in Garfield Heights. This truck accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. yesterday, according to Garfield Heights police. As a result of the truck accident, traffic was backed up all the way to Interstate 77 as crews worked to remove the truck from the scene. Police have not released the cause of the accident and no reports on any injuries sustained in the wreck.
