An Ohio tractor-trailer driver died Sunday evening as a result of a truck accident along Interstate 270. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol and recent news reports, the truck accident occurred when the man’s rig veered off the road and rolled over along I-270 around 7 p.m. Sunday. The truck rolled into a field on the north side of I-270 near Parsons Avenue.
As a result of the truck accident, the cab of the truck caught fire while the driver of the truck was trapped inside. The identity of the truck driver was not release but the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reported that the driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Traffic along west bound I-270 was restricted as authorities collected evidence and investigated the scene. Authorities do not currently know what caused the driver of the truck to leave the road but are investigating the truck accident to find out the details. No other motor vehicles were involved in the crash.
This truck accident only comes days after a truck flipped and caught fire on the same stretch of highway near Cleveland Avenue. As a result, one man was killed in the crash when the eastbound truck struck the metal end cap on a concrete barrier wall and flipped the truck upside down, trapping the driver inside. One witness described that the truck was traveling more than 100 mph before the crash occurred. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
